In the UK, the number of toilets required on a construction site depends on the number of workers on site, the duration of their stay, and the type of work being performed. According to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), there should be a minimum of one toilet for every 10 workers, or a minimum of one toilet for every single-sex group of workers.
As a general rule, there should be a minimum of one welfare cabin per 10 workers, or one welfare cabin per single-sex group of workers, on a construction site in the UK.
The employer or main contractor is responsible for ensuring that adequate welfare facilities are provided on a construction site in the UK. The provision of welfare facilities is a legal requirement under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992.
